j2 gushing over brothers is my favourite thing tbh:
- ‘So Dean is sort of in his comfort zone. The brothers have each other’s backs, and Dean is ready to take on the world, with his brother beside him. And I like him being there.’
- ‘I think [Dean] realizes that the only place he truly belongs is cruising down the road in the impala with his brother at his side.’
- ‘They’re obviously stronger together than they are apart.’
- ‘The relationship between the brothers is really the thing that keeps this ball rolling.’
- ‘I think if you relate to these two characters and their relationship with one another and their relationship together with the world then, you know, that’s all you need.’
- ‘The brothers made a commitment to each other in the church.’
- ‘The brothers essentially are clinging to each other in the midst of a massive storm.’
- ‘It has always been a story about two brothers. Whatever kind of craziness comes their way, I think that the story always hinges on the relationship with these two guys and what they deal with and what they go through on a human level.’
- ‘At its core it’s the story of two brothers.’
- ‘[Sam] loves Dean, he’s done it for a while now.’
- ‘At the end of the day, this stops and starts with the brothers.’
- ‘It’s the two of them together. The brothers are very much back together and me and Jared are happy about that. We often say that with the brothers, the sum of them is greater than the parts [Sam and Dean as individuals].’
- ‘The relationship between Sam and Dean, we connect with it. Everyone wants a Dean to their Sam.’
- ’It’s funny, I actually pitched it once – I didn’t even pitch it I just suggested it in passing – I’m like, ‘Shouldn’t there be a scene with the guys playing some card games in a laundromat, sitting there in their boxers?”
- Talking about Sam and Dean saying ‘I love you’; ‘They should save that for the finale, then the brothers can finally say how they feel.’
- (Aisha:) ‘Unless they’re gonna start fucking, they can’t be together forever. Like, when is one of them gonna get a girlfriend?’ (Jared:) ‘You’ll be really happy with this season then.’
- Jensen on a dream he had about the end of the series: ‘Sam had died and Dean couldn’t get him back […] It’s a long stretch of highway with nothing but fields and Dean gets out of the impala and hands the keys over to a stranger. The guy hands him keys, to what we don’t know, and then the guy gets in the impala and drives away. And the camera turns to reveal that Dean’s got a motorcycle. And then he gets on and it’s super sad because he’s like, ‘I don’t have my brother, what do I need a passenger for?”
- ‘Being with his brother and doing this is the happiest he is.’
- ‘Jared now has an alternative ending to the show, instead of S/D dying. Last shot, Sam & Dean on the hood of Baby, sharing beers. As he put it, “End with the three main characters…Sam, Dean, and Baby.”’
- ’‘I’d die for you, I’d kill for you, I’d go to the ends of the earth for you.’’
- ‘Their relationship is the constant in the show. And it was like, I want my brother back.’
- ‘At the end of the day, even when the brothers are angry at each other, or at whatever – their bond is unbreakable.’
- (Fan:) ‘If you had to choose a character to play on Supernatural besides Sam and Dean, who would you choose and why?’ (Jared:) ‘I would play Ruby, because she gets to hook up with Sam. And you?’ (Jensen:) Probably Ruby because she gets to…’
- Jensen’s bro shirt ❤
- (Jensen:) ‘But you know, when it comes down to it, it’s about these two brothers.’ (Jared:) ‘I agree.’
- ‘I don’t think that there’s anything that will completely ever usurp the brother bond, the family bond that is what ties these two ties together. They can say, “We’re not brothers,” and they can pretend like they’re not brothers, and they can do all the things to each other that might scar that, but it will be just that—it will be a scar on a bond that will never really break.’
